2012 Event Scheduled!

The 2012 Church Hill Irish Festival has been scheduled for March 24 and March 25! We are still working through the event details, so more news to follow in February.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

I am interested in finding out more information on your festival. I am a vendor who sells charms and related jewelry. We have a very similar festival at the Innsbrook Pavilion on Saturday, March 10th. There is no admission charge and festivities include 4 local bands, Irish dancing groups, vendors (arts, crafts, and food), kid’s activities, a petting zoo, a beer garden, and a St. Baldrick’s head-shaving event ro raise money for childhood cancer research. 3 weekends of Irish festivals in a row in Richmond!   The event on March 10th was VERY POORLY organized! We drove 45 minutes out there and asked if there was going to be irish dancers or irish music and was told by the K95 booth that they had no idea. When we asked if there was a schedule of events, they let us look at their copy and it said something about performers at the “chick fil a” stage but they didnt know what that was. We went to the chick fil a booth to ask, they also had NO CLUE what it was talking about. But they DID tell us they were SELLING chances to spin a wheel and get “free” food. Sorry, if we have to BUY a spin, thats not free food. Now that my 4 year old wanted to spin, I paid for her to spin. It landed on a free Chick fil a sandwich. Now heres where everyone looked confused. They didnt know what to do for prizes. Eventually, they said they didnt have any coupons for chick fil a sandwiches so they gave my daughter, again, 4 YEARS OLD, a coupon for a free spicy chicken sandwich (which expired LAST YEAR). VERY poorly planned, even MORE poorly executed! Would SERIOUSLY think twice about going to one of these events again. WHAT A LET DOWN!!

St. Baldrick’s RVA is so excited to return to the Church Hill Irish Festival!!! We will be on stage Sunday the 25th at 1:30, grab yourself a drink, listen to wonderful bands, shop the local vendors and then be sure to stop by and watch as men, WOMEN, and KIDS step up and “Shave it Bald” all to help benefit Children’s Cancer Research. Thank you to the Church Hill Irish Festival for helping support us again this year! We are so excited!

St. Baldricks RVA is so happy to be a 9th year participant in this wonderful street festival. Thank you to the Church Hill Irish Festival for helping support this wonderful cause. We go on stage Sunday March 25th at 1:30pm, so after you’ve had a few beverages, eaten some awesome Irish food, enjoyed the bands, and shopped the local vendors–stop by the stage to see brave men, WOMEN and CHILDREN shave it bald all to support childhood cancer research! Anchor Greg McQuade from CBS WTVR 6 will be our emcee. We are super excited, thanks again Church Hill Irish Festival! See you in a couple weeks.
